Having wanted to be a professional footballer from the age of four, John’s dream was realised when he became a professional at Queen’s Park Rangers, but due to injury had to take early retirement and go in search of a new challenge. Over the next ten years John did a number of jobs including milkman, and accountant at the Inland Revenue. It was here that John decided he wanted his own business, and in 1982, John and his wife Christine (who was a hairdresser) opened their first Headmasters salon in Wimbledon Village.
John has, with the help of his elite team, grown Headmasters to the 47 UK salons that are open today, employing over 1,000 people and caring for over 100,000 clients.
